For this year's photoshoot, we embarked on a journey far from our familiar Australian coastlines to immerse ourselves in the vibrant and enchanting culture of Mexico. Our decision to set our location in this captivating country was inspired by a spirited Fiesta theme, infusing our designs with the lively spirit of this beautiful nation.

While the beach remains the cornerstone of our annual photoshoot, this year, we set out on an adventure promising to bring the heart and soul of Mexico to your beachside wardrobe.

Welcome to our tale of sun, sand, and serendipity on the rustic and tropical island of Holbox, where our new designs showcase the colorful fiesta of Mexico.

One of the first things that caught our eye on Holbox was the stunning wall art that adorns the exterior of many buildings. This vibrant and colorful street art is a testament to the island's unique character and the creativity of its inhabitants. The art captures the essence of Holbox, with its blend of tropical landscapes, marine life, and the rich cultural heritage of Mexico.

Our escapades on Holbox included navigating its sandy roads in charming golf carts, a unique and eco-friendly mode of transport. Every adventure, however, comes with its surprises, and ours was no exception. On the day of the shoot, as we meandered through the sandy lanes in the early hours, we encountered an unusually large pool of water - a common sight following the rainy season. With a sense of urgency, we rescued our well-steamed shorts from the splash zone.

It was a reminder that even the most carefully orchestrated photoshoot can't predict the whims of the island's natural charm.

While Holbox boasts a plethora of culinary delights, our most memorable experience was our visit to Piedrasanta, a charming restaurant that offers an enticing array of Mexican tapas-style dishes. Among the island's culinary treasures, my personal favorite was the renowned Ceviche, a dish that left a lasting impression and has now inspired me to embark on my own culinary adventure recreating its flavors back home.

As we ventured into downtown Holbox, we couldn’t resist the allure of its charming markets. An ideal place to stop for some last-minute photoshoot items. Amidst the colorful stalls and scents of freshly prepared street food, we met a small boy repairing and selling ukuleles, his wide smile captured our hearts. It was a great example of the genuine warmth and hospitality of the island and we were delighted to purchase a green ukulele to use on the shoot.

Holbox is more than just a pretty face; it exudes a laid-back, low-key vibe. Here, hammocks sway from nearly every palm tree, and the pace of life is unhurried. Little wonder that it’s a photographer’s paradise. With its unhurried atmosphere and abundant natural beauty, Holbox offers an idyllic canvas for capturing moments that allow you to tell your unique story.

Our journey to Holbox was more than a photoshoot; it was a vibrant tapestry of moments. Our photographs will carry not just the beauty of beachwear but the spirit of this captivating island.
